A short orientation

Tom, MBT & the 4 Hz method

This tool is inspired by Tom Campbell's work. Think of it as an aid for quiet exploration, not a shortcut or a medical treatment.

Who is Tom Campbell?

Thomas W. Campbell is a physicist, consciousness researcher and author of the My Big TOE trilogy. He developed MBT as a model intended to connect consciousness, science and personal growth.

What is My Big TOE?

TOE means Theory of Everything. In Campbell's model, consciousness is fundamental, physical reality is information-based, and growth happens through choices that reduce fear and strengthen care and cooperation. These are Campbell's philosophical claims, not established scientific consensus.

128Hz+ 4Hz=132Hz

Why a 4 Hz difference?

The app sends one sine tone to each ear. With 128 Hz on the left and 132 Hz on the right, the difference is 4 Hz. Through stereo headphones, the auditory system may perceive that difference as a slow binaural beat. The carrier frequencies are the tones you hear; 4 Hz is the MBT-inspired default, while Advanced settings can use another gap.

A simple way to use it

  1. Use stereo headphones and begin at a low volume.
  2. Set the frequency pair. Open Advanced settings only if you want another binaural difference or a frequency sweep.
  3. Sit or lie comfortably, close your eyes if it is safe, and let your attention settle without forcing an experience.
  4. Begin with a few minutes. Stop if you feel discomfort, headache, dizziness or agitation.
